The role: An ideal business management opportunity for a creative, resourceful, and collaborative individual. This is a rare opportunity to grow or hone business decision making and investor awareness skills. In this key position, reporting to the EVP, Finance & COO and working closely with the Office of the Chief executive (OCE), you will play an important role in the compilation and execution of the Company’s business development and investor relations strategies.
In this hands-on role you will provide business development, transactional, alliance management and shareholder communications support to the OCE reflecting the Company’s business strategy. In view of the 360o perspective of the position on the Company’s strategy and operations, you will be ideally located to develop a strategic sense and set yourself in an executive development path.
In this role, you will specifically,
Business Development
- Support the Company’s business development activities (in-licensing, out-licensing, including mergers and acquisitions)
- Maintain in-house BD&L materials, including compound profiles and non- confidential descriptions, and competitive intelligence summaries
- Play a coordinating role in identifying and negotiating transactions with potential partners and collaborators
- Coordinate efficient prosecution of project evaluations and cross functional due diligence, minimising disruption to the Company’s core business
- Support development of proposals and presentations for business materials to create and develop business opportunities and partnerships
- Source, plan and organize business development (including but not limited speaking engagements, conference, panels)
Investor Relations (IR)
- Coordinate and support the draft and distribution of relevant company press releases, publications consistent with SEC filings
- Coordinate and support earnings/investor and other conference calls, including press releases, transcripts and webcasts
- Develop and maintain accurate and current content on the company’s website
- Ensure accurate, consistent and timely responses to all external inquiries from investors, analysts and media along with developing an investor database (CRM)
- Coordinate and manage preparation for board and shareholder annual meetings including relevant documentation and communication
- Maintain an IR information pack
- Support IR outreach programs including liaison with banks, investors, external advisors and conference organisers
- Source, plan and organize IR (including but not limited to road shows, speaking engagements, conference, panels)
For this role: You should have,
- Business degree, MBA or PharmD a plus
- 3 years of professional experience in Corporate or Business Development and/or Investor Relations
- Experience of working in the life science sector
- Outstanding communication skills: written, oral, and presentation
- Multitasking capability with curiosity for new ideas and concepts
- Ability to assimilate data/information and distil down to executive-level narrative
- Demonstrable ability to write and edit documents (presentations, investor communications and BD&L proposals)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong judgement and ability to make well-reasoned independent decisions
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities, operating under tight deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word).

The role: Reporting to the Head of Research, in this hands-on role, you will support the development of Cyclacel’s clinical, small molecule, drug development programs.
In this role, you will specifically provide:
- Translational research to support the solid tumour and haematological development strategy for the company’s compounds
- Primary scientific expertise to the design and implementation of translational strategies and biomarker identification and development, for drug development programs
- Management of relevant CROs and external collaborators, including preparation of protocols, data analysis, report preparation and review
- Analysis and interpretation of biological data for preclinical or translational decision making
- Project troubleshooting and evaluation of complex project risks and issues
- Input in identifying and effectively interacting with thought leaders to engage in scientific exchange
- Planning and management of projects to meet agreed milestones, timelines and budgets
- Assistance in the compilation of regulatory submissions
- A high level of current scientific expertise in the relevant disease area(s) by reviewing the literature, through scientific meetings, personal exchanges with key opinion leaders and internal stakeholders
- Internal and external data presentations, may include international conferences. The role may involve limited international
For this role: You should have:
- PhD in molecular life science
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in human molecular life sciences and a strong working knowledge of oncology drug development and / or translational research
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, in a biotech or pharmaceutical industry environment preferred
- Demonstrable track record in human molecular life sciences or oncology proven through recent publications / presentations in reputable peer-reviewed journals or conferences
- Demonstrable experience in the following is advantageous but not essential:
- small molecule drug development
- biomarker development
- precision medicine
- Well-developed communication and reporting skills to operate collaboratively and efficiently within a fast-paced, team-based, matrix environment
- Track record of proactivity, high performance and ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a demanding work environment
- Highly computer literate, including Microsoft Office and appropriate scientific software
- Excellent interpersonal skills, complemented by a positive, can-do attitude
